About

I am a lot of things: a human being, a woman, a friend, a patient, a client, a student, a worker.  I am intelligent, funny, selfless, hard-working, honest, and caring (to a fault).  I am also a victim of what many deem unthinkable trauma.  I’m working on rebuilding myself piece by piece, and repairing all of the damage caused by decades of abuse.

This blog is about my journey, from past to present to future, from my experiences as a survivor of child abuse to my everyday struggles living with PTSD and DID.  Sometimes it’s full of hope.  Other times, despair.  I write from my heart.

I cannot take away what happened to me. I can only try to heal from it.

  2. I just read your entire blog (over the last 24 hours) so I left a lot of comments, haha! I’m so glad I found it though because our stories are so similar! It’s incredible, really. I love the way you write and I really look forward to cheering you on in this healing journey. You’re incredible and inspiring and I know this won’t be easy, but it will be oh so worth it.

  3. Hi Crystalie,

First off, I came across your site and wanted to say thanks for providing a great resource to the mental health community.

I thought you might find this bipolar disorder fact sheet helpful for your readers, as it shows symptoms, treatment and stats about the disorder: http://www.healthline.com/health/bipolar-disorder/fact-sheet

Naturally, I’d be delighted if you share this embeddable graphic on https://lifewithouthurt.wordpress.com/ , and/or share it with your followers on social. Either way, keep up the great work Crystalie!

    All the best,

  4. I just realized that I noticed your blog before, eight months ago, in September 2015. I wanted to thank you again, now, for writing. So interesting to me that in my previous comment I wrote that your writing would be sure to help “others.” What I want to say now is thank you for helping ME. Since September 2015, I have a deeper understanding of my own dissociative issues; it’s been a hard one for me to understand and harder still to accept because I feel so ashamed and stigmatized. But your open, honest words about your feelings and experiences help me to feel less alone. Thank you again and I wish for you everything that is good in life. A.

    1. You are tremendously kind.
I hope you never feel alone. It is one of the worst feelings in the world.
Thank you for supporting me. Reading your words have so much of an effect on me as well.
      Thank you.
